LIFE as a choice is forged by my own life experiences.  As a father, I am part of, and witness to, the miracle of life.  As a firefighter, my choice is always to save a life, no matter the consequences.  As a survivor of my Ground Zero 9/11 experience, God gave me a second chance at the precious gift of my own life. There is no doubt in my mind that the right to life is the single, most basic, and most fundamental right of all.

As an American, and a believer in our US Constitution, I do not believe it’s the federal government’s role to have any say in this matter, pro or con. The meddling of politicians to garner votes from one side or the other in the issue only serves to trivialize its importance. Although I believe in my heart that abortion is wrong, I am not comfortable in giving the federal government the power, or the precedent, to inflict on "We The People".

Too often the fight has wrongly been taken on the Federal Level instead of the local and state level. When we reach out for federal help we are acknowledging a power greater than ‘We the people’ and by our very action begin to nullify the 9th and 10th amendments.  I am for life and I believe that life  begins at conception. I also believe in the sovereignty of the people and the state and if ‘we the people’ are going to effect change, ‘we the people’ must use these two empowerments given to us in the Constitution.

Fighting to end federal funding for abortion is the first place we need to start. Constitutionally, the federal government cannot force anyone to fund any critical medical procedure, let alone an elective one. This is where I believe we must focus our efforts. By reclaiming personal and state rights we can set the precedence that becomes law that can become an example for other states.

This is not going to be an easy battle. It will not happen overnight. For nearly 37 years the federal governments along with special interest groups and a host of legal counsel have set a precedent and a foundation that will be difficult to overcome. This is why I say I do not believe it’s the federal government’s role to have any say in this matter, pro or con. It is the right of the People to be a moral compass based upon their principles and values not The Federal Government's. The Federal Government has no business in legislating morality. Because when they try, the moral climate can shift every 4- 8 years depending upon who is in office.  Emotionally this can be devastating and confusing to people and in the end only special interest lawyers benefit. This is why 'We The People' must take the lead here and decide on our own.

I look to my belief in God as the higher authority from which I derive my morals and values from; because the principles I believe in do not arbitrarily change upon how I feel at the time. Those principles and values I hold dear are objective and my convictions always guide me back to the proper decision for me. It is from these beliefs, principles and values that I hold life in the highest regard and why for me it is the only choice. As a former firefighter would you really expect me to take any different position on the issue?

Mother Teresa said, "If abortion is not wrong, nothing is wrong." The fetus (life)  doesn't want to be killed; it seeks to escape. Did you dare to watch The Silent Scream? Did the media dare to allow it to be shown? No, they will censor nothing except the most common operation in America.

Scientifically we have been shown that the life of an individual member of every species begins at conception. This was taught by all life science textbooks before Roe V. Wade and consequently none after.  Interestingly enough the Roe supporters did not scientifically discover, appeal to, or submit any new scientific findings.

If elected senator I will support any and all legislation that is in favor of life and not support any legislation that ends a life conceived.

I really want to hear your feedback on this issue. As an individual running as a Senator, my job would be to listen to you as your representative and then act accordingly upon the expressed will of you, the people. This is why at the end of every issue I have a comment feedback section, because without your direct involvement in this campaign, I would just be another politician promoting my agenda over that of those whom I work for and was elected to represent.
